Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has partnered with 30 leading UK insurers to improve the availability and affordability of insurance for its customers. This collaboration has resulted in several key advancements.
Enhanced Security for Older Vehicles
JLR has invested £15 million to upgrade the security of vehicles dating back to 2018, including those out of warranty. Over 150,000 vehicles have already received these updates, with work ongoing for models from 2016 and 2017. JLR encourages all owners to contact their retailer for a security check and the latest guidance.
Unprecedented Real-Time Data
JLR is providing insurers with real-time data on the anti-theft measures installed in its vehicles, allowing for more accurate premium calculations for Range Rover, Defender and Discovery owners.
Dedicated Insurance Services
Launched in October 2023, Jaguar Insurance and Land Rover Insurance have already provided over 37,500 quotes, with an average monthly premium below £180.
Land Rover Insurance is offering a new "Insurance Contribution" initiative for new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models registered between May 1 and September 30, 2024. This provides a monthly discount of £150 for up to three years.
These efforts are part of JLR's comprehensive strategy to combat the negative impact of organised crime on its customers, insurance premiums, and the industry as a whole. This strategy includes collaborations with police forces, port authorities, and international law enforcement agencies. The effectiveness of these measures is evident in the low theft rates of newer JLR models: only 0.2% of new Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports and 0.3% of new Defenders have been stolen since their respective launches.
