An icon returns to reign supreme
On 2nd September 2024, in Venice, Aston Martin announced the return of one of its most iconic models: the Vanquish. This new flagship car, the most powerful in the brand’s 111-year history, sits at the top of Aston Martin’s front-engined sports car range, showcasing their exceptional engineering prowess.
The Vanquish is powered by a 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo V12 engine, producing a staggering 835PS and 1000Nm of torque, making it the fastest Aston Martin series production car with a top speed of 214mph. This impressive performance is paired with a bespoke chassis and cutting-edge dynamics technology, ensuring a driving experience that blends the comfort of a grand tourer with the precision of a supercar.
Limited to fewer than 1,000 units per year, the Vanquish features carbon fibre bodywork and an interior that sets new standards in modern luxury. Aston Martin’s Executive Chairman, Lawrence Stroll, describes the Vanquish as a "halo model," emphasising its role in defining the future of the brand with its unmatched style, performance, and exclusivity.
Key enhancements include a strengthened cylinder block, reprofiled camshafts, new intake and exhaust ports, and high-speed, reduced-inertia turbochargers that boost performance and responsiveness. The innovative Boost Reserve function ensures instant power delivery, especially during overtaking and dynamic driving.
The Vanquish also benefits from the expertise of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team, using advanced engine oil for optimal performance. The introduction of an electronic rear limited-slip differential (e-diff) with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox marks a first for Aston Martin’s front-engined V12 sports cars, enhancing agility and control in all driving conditions.
Chief Technical Officer Roberto Fedeli hailed the new V12 as a modern masterpiece, blending power, efficiency, and drivability to create a car that stands unmatched in its category. The 2024 Vanquish is a testament to Aston Martin’s relentless pursuit of performance and luxury.
